Grown in your neighborhood by your neighbors…
Supporting health through technology and innovation.
Blacque Acres is committed to providing underserved communities with affordable and healthy, garden fresh vegetables all year round.
What is container farming?
Our shipping container farms make it possible to grow delicious food 365 days a year. Featuring a state-of-the-art controlled environment agriculture system that gives you complete control of the elements. We can grow thousands of high-value crops like lettuces, leafy greens, herbs, roots, edible flowers, and more in just 320 sq. ft.
How do we do this?
We do this by utilizing a shipping container that has been engineered and outfitted to grow produce hydroponically. These containers use a closed system that is environmentally friendly and is controlled through an app on a smart device.
Support for Communities
Our farms address a multitude of issues within our underrepresented community. We address the need for fresh vegetables all year round. We also help educate our community on how we’re able to do this through technology and sustainable practices. Our support for our community will allow neighbors to feed neighbors.
“We’ve found a way to circumvent the lead and contaminants in our soil, to grow healthy vegetables in our community.”
— James P., Founder/Executive Director
